Birthday Parties

A variety of Birthday Parties and Birthday Party packages are available at Henderson Recreation Centre, Oak Bay Recreation Centre, and Windsor Pavilion.

From Gym to Golf, Swimming to Skating, and much much more – it’s easy to find a fun-filled party at a great price.

Parties are available for children celebrating their first birthday all the way to teen year celebrations!

Recreation Oak Bay offers many great options for birthday parties in the Teen Centre and Indoor Soccer Field. The option to have a birthday in both the Teen Centre and Indoor Soccer or just the Teen Centre is available.

Parties at Henderson Recreation Centre

  • Henderson Parties are available Saturdays and Sundays
  • You supply the cake, party food, plates and utensils; and we do the rest!

Your Birthday Party includes:

  • Complimentary invitations

Times Savers and Extra Goodies:

  • Complimentary Invitations! Drop by Henderson Recreation Centre to pick up invitations!
  • Balloon Animals $13.50 – provides a colourful balloon creation for each child
  • Loot Bags $5 per child
    Includes: a drop-in pass for swimming, skating, or kindergym,a lollipop, a special surprise item(selected to compliment the party’s theme!) and choice of one from each of these three: sticker or tattoo, bouncy ball or bubbles, sticky creature or fancy pencil.

Note – for All Parties: Payment must be made at time of booking. Any changes/cancellations must be made the Monday prior to your party. Sorry, no exceptions for additional guests. Cannot exceed maximum numbers (including birthday child and participating siblings). Tax not included.

Bouncy Castle Party (1-10 years):

  •  Available Weekends March to June and Saturdays in July & August
  •  1 hour of activities in the gym
  • 1 hour party room for cake and presents
  • 2 Party Attendants
  • Maximum 20 participants (including birthday child and participating siblings)

Gym Party $143

  • 1-5 yrs: Kindergym stations, tot cars, push toys, sports equipment, music & more
  • 6-10 yrs: Basketball, floor hockey, soccer stations, plasma cars and more!

Bouncy Castle Party $168

  • All the fun of a Gym Party PLUS a Bouncy Castle!

Theme Parties (6-12 years):

  • 1 hour of themed activities
  • 1 hour party room for cake and presents
  • 2 Party Attendants
  • Maximum 15 participants (including birthday child and participating siblings)

Magic and Mystery Party $150
Curious boys and girls will love this party including magic tricks, science experiments and fun active games.

Girl Power Party $150 
Birthday girls, you’ll have a blast painting your nails, glittering your face, applying tattoos, making jewelry and creating a giant Girl Power Poster!

Preschool Parties (3-5 years):

  • 45 minutes of themed activities
  • 45 minutes party room for cake and presents
  • 2 Party Attendants
  • Maximum 15 participants(including birthday child and participating siblings)

Dora and Diego’s Adventure Party $106
Party guests will decorate their own travel-bag before setting off on adventures that include active games, puzzles and story time.

Pirates in Paradise $106
Ahoy matey! This party provides an ocean of fun for littleones including a story, craft and a treasure hunt for sparkling jewels.

Princess for the Day $106
Little ones will feel like real Royalty as they read stories,make magic wands and crowns, and participate in other royal activities.

Super-Heroes $106 
Join the leaders at Super-Hero Training School! Preschoolers will have lots of fun practicing Super-Hero skills, making a keepsake, and going on an adventure. Wear your costumes if you have them!

Golf Party (all ages):

  • Available Weekends March-June and Saturdays in July & August
  • at Henderson Park Golf Course
  • 1 hour party room for cake and presents
  • Round of golf for each child (includes golf clubs and ball)
  • Maximum 8 children
  • Starting at $150
  • Minimum 2 adults required for golf course supervision

Parties at Oak Bay Recreation Centre

Pool Party (6 years & up):

  • Admission for a minimum of 10 children during Kid’s Fun Swim* with food in Sports View Deli Bar & Grill. Plunge in to birthday fun at the pool!
  • Pool parties take place at Oak Bay Recreation Centre’s Pool during the action-packed Kids Fun Swims with games, water slides and more
  • After your swim enjoy your party meal in the Sports View Deli Bar & Grill
  • Party includes Birthday card and 1 courtesy pass for birthday child & a balloon for each child
  • Cost: $12.50/child (10 child minimum including birthday child) includes swim admission for children and up to 3 participating parents or guardians and food
  • Food Options:  Pizza, hamburgers or hot dogs (vegetarian options available) with chips and pop or juice
  • Vegetable trays available at an additional cost: Small Veggie Platter $16, Large Veggie Platter $22
  • Option: Add a pool leader to your swim (enjoy facilitated play and your child’s choice of inflatable fun) for $31.50/hour

Note: A minimum 1:5 adult to child ratio is required during pool parties. If a pool leader is booked, they are considered a supervising adult. If any child attending the party is under the age of seven, you MUST select the pool leader option or adhere to a 1:3 adult to child ratio. No outside food allowed in Sports View, except for birthday cake.

Preschool Pool Party (3-5 years):

  • Preschool Pool Parties offer the same fun and games as the ‘6 years & up’ Pool Party, but with additional supervision and smaller party sizes
  • Cost: $12.50/child (a maximum of 8children including birthday child) includes swim admission for children and up to 3 participating parents or guardians and food
  • Food Options: Pizza, hamburgers or hot dogs (vegetarian options available) with chips and pop or juice. Vegetable trays available at an additional cost: Small $16, Large $22
  • Please note a pool leader is required for Preschool Pool Party bookings – (aquatic instructor) add $31.50/hour

Skate Party (all ages):

  • Admission for a minimum of 10 children (including birthday child). Skate 3-4:30pm during the Everyone Welcome Skate on Sundays, from April 1- June 10
  • Food in Sports View Deli Bar & Grill
  • Enjoy a fun filled afternoon of skating at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre for your birthday party! Afterwards, head upstairs to the Sports View Deli Bar and Grill for a fun meal!
  • Party includes birthday card & 1 courtesy pass for birthday child and a  balloon for each child
  • Cost: $12.50/child (10 child minimum including birthday child) includes admission/rentals for children and maximum of 3 participating parents/guardians and food
  • Food Options: Choose a pizza, hamburger, or hot dog party (vegetarianoptions available) with potato chips, pop or juice
  • Additional Food is available: Small Veggie Platter $16, Large Veggie Platter $22

Note: A skate instructor option is not available as the activity occurs during a public skate time.

Soccer Party (6-16 years):

  •  Saturday or Sunday
  •  1 hour on Indoor Sports Field  with Party Attendant
  • Come and use the popular Indoor Sports Field! Located in the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, this facility is great for your soccer birthday party
  • Soccer balls, pinnies, and cones included
  • Choose to have 1 hour of unstructured soccer activities or for an additional fee, book an instructor who will organize specific soccer games and activities or cooperative games, like Capture the Flag
  • Party includes birthday card and a courtesy drop-in pass for the birthday child
  • Sports View food option add-on available
  • Cost: $112 (20 child maximum including birthday child)
  • Food Options: $12.50/child (10 child minimum).
  • Choice of one of the following foods: pizza, ham-burgers, or hot dogs (vegetarian option available) with potato chips, pop or juice
  • Additional Food is available: Small Veggie Platter $16, Large Veggie Platter $22
  • Add Planned Activities/Instruction includes cooperative games or soccer specific drills/activities led by Recreation Oak Bay staff – add $31.50/hr

Soccer & Teen Centre Party (6-16 years)

  •  Saturday or Sunday
  •  Party Attendant
  • 1 hour/ Indoor Sports Field and 1 hour/Teen Centre
  • This party offers all the same great fun as the Soccer Party, BUT…includes 1 hour in the Teen Centre
  • Located behind the Oak Bay Recreation tennis bubbles and adjacent to the running track, the Teen Centre offers activities like: Nintendo Wii, foosball, air hockey, pool, and ping pong. This is a fantastic room to have food and presents after your time in the Indoor Sports Field.
  • Cost: $158 (20 child maximum including birthday child)
  • Includes: 1 hr of supervised soccer in the Indoor Sports Field with soccer balls, pinnies, & cones and 1 hour of supervised activities in the Teen Centre.
  • Add Planned Activities/Instruction(Oak Bay Staff) – includes cooperative games or soccer specific drills/activities led by Recreation Oak Bay staff in the Indoor Sports Field $31.50/hr

Teen Centre Party (6-16 years):

  •  Friday 6-8pm or Saturday or Sunday 11am-8pm
  •  2 hours of games and activities
  • Party Attendant
  • Located behind the Oak Bay Recreation tennis bubbles and adjacent to the running track, the Teen Centre offers activities like: Nintendo Wii, foosball, air hockey, pool, and ping pong
  • You are welcome to order in food or bring your own. For 2 hours (supervised) in this fantastic room, your birthday party is sure to be a hit!
  • Food Options: Bring your own food into the Teen Centre (Sports View Deli Bar & Grill catering is not available)
  • Cost: $98 (20 child maximum including birthday child)

Note – for all Teen Centre Parties: Party includes birthday card and 1 courtesy pass for birthday child. DJ’s are not permitted in the Teen Centre. Host parents/guardians need to be present at all times (2 adults minimum).

Set-up time in Teen Centre: This allows parents/guardians to access the Teen Centre in advance of the Indoor Sports Field portion of the party to set-up decorations/food.$24.50/half hour.

Parties at Carnarvon Centre

  • Maximum 15 participants (including birthday child and participating siblings)
  • Includes an hour of themed activities with 2 party attendants and an hour in the party room.

Cooking Monsters (5-8 years):

  • Young food lovers’ will enjoy baking and decorating their own birthday treat! Along with their treats, party guests will enjoy circle and/or outdoor games.
  • Choose from a list of treat options, available at time of booking
  • Cost $150

Top Chefs Cooking Party (9-12 years):

  • Young food connoisseurs will enjoy mixing and mashing their own munchies at this party. Along with time in the kitchen, party guests will also enjoy games and decorating their own chef’s hat
  • Choose a culinary delight from a list of food options at time of booking
  • Cost: $150
