Opening Olympic Celebration...

Friday February 12 from 6-10pm

Gather with friends and family to watch LIVE coverage of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies on the giant Projection Screen TV.

Games, Prizes, Kid's Zone and much much more!

Drop by and catch the 2010 action February 12-28. Sports View is open daily from 7am -10 pm. Located upstairs at Oak Bay Recreation Centre with views of the pool & indoor sports field.

Swim Happenings...

February Events:
Monday February 8th 6:30-8:30pm – COAST CAPITAL FREE SWIM – Come to the Oak Bay Pool during this time and swim for free. Thanks Coast Capital!
Sunday February 14th 1-5pm Kids Fun Swim & 9:30pm-1:00am Late Night Swim – VALENTINE’S DAY SWIMS – Enjoy a ride in the Love Boat or a trip down the Tunnel of Love! 19 & over Late Night swimmers will also enjoy a Dive-in Move at 10:00pm.
Tuesday February 16th 5-6pm - FREE STROKE IMPROVEMENT CLINIC – A swimming instructor will be on deck to offer free stroke tips and correction to swimmers during the 5 o’clock Adult Length Swim. This month will focus on Front Crawl.
Wednesday February 17th 10pm – DIVE-IN MOVIE – “James Bond – Dr. No”
Friday February 19th 1:30-3pm – PRO-D DAY SWIM – Spend your afternoon off school at the Oak Bay Pool!

Arena Happenings...

Duffer Hockey every Monday-Friday from 11:45am-1:15pm. Phone in on the day you want to play starting at 9:30am to secure your spot! Call 250-598-4625. Over 40's Duffer starts at 8:30am on Tuesdays and Fridays.
New! Women's Duffer Hockey. This is a drop-in hockey game for women over 16. Call 250-598-Goal to reserve your spot. See Schedules page.

New! Purchase a Recreation Oak Bay Annual Pass through monthly installments!

The Pre-Authorized Debit Plan is an optional payment plan which provides an opportunity to make equal monthly payments for Recreation Oak Bay Annual Passes (including the Regional Pass).

For the Adult Annual Pass, it will be approximately $29/month (plus an annual convenience fee of $25 payable at time of purchase or renewal). The payments are made by authorizing automatic transfer of payments from a chequing account at any Canadian financial institution or charged to a valid credit card.

 Recognition Tree

With the redevelopment of the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, there is an opportunity to celebrate the people focus of the Recreation Centre and have an individual or organization's name show as a lasting legacy of support for this community facility. As part of the redevelopment, the new lobby features a stylized Recognition Tree that showcases the generosity of donors toward the newly renovated centre. Levels of Donation:

  • $100 - bronze leaf $250 - silver leaf $500 - gold leaf
  • $1000 - acorn $5000 - foundation stone

For donations of $100 or more, donors can have their names engraved on stylized leaves and receive an oak leaf lapel pin. All donations are tax deductible. Donations of less than $100 are welcome and tax receipts will be issued for all donations of over $10.

Where to donate: Donations may be made at the Reception desk at Henderson, Monterey, and Oak Bay Recreation Centre. Please note that donations are also being accepted at the Oak Bay Municipal Hall.
