at Monterey Recreation Centre... |
| Mondays
& Wednesdays, 4:45-5:45pm
Saturdays, 9:30-10:30am
...for adults 19 yrs & up
Starting
September 6th, the Monday/Wednesday 4:45pm class start time
will change to 5pm (therefore a 5-6pm class time).
There will also be an additional class on Mondays at 6:30pm.
Saturdays will remain the same at 9:30am. No
Jazzercise Saturday September 4th & Wednesday September
8th.
Passes
and drop-in admission available at the class.
Recreation
Oak Bay Annual Pass Holders receive 50% off!
Each
60-minute workout includes: a gentle warm up, 30-minute aerobic
work out to music, muscle toning and strengthening segment
with hand weights and a stretch finale. All routines are fun
and easy to follow!

Drop-In at Monterey Centre |
| Join
our drop-in fitness classes and work out to motivational music
with qualified and enthusiastic instructors. All classes include
a warm-up, cardiovascular, strength, and cool down components.
The strength portion of the Mild and Gentle classes are done
using chairs for assistance.

Courses:
|
The
Centre offers courses for adults, 50 years and over
during the daytime and 19 years and over during the
evenings and weekends. Seasonal program guides include
courses on Arts and Crafts, Computer, Cooking, Dance,
Bridge, Gardening, Home, Music, Languages, Photography,
and Special Interest. You do not have to be a member
to participate in the courses but members may register
at a reduced rate for daytime course.

Membership: |
Memberships
are available for adults 50 years and over who wish to
participate in the following activities at Monterey Recreation
Centre: Trips, Meals, Special Events, Free Income Tax
and Blood Pressure Services, over 35 Special Interest
clubs and Volunteer Opportunities. In addition, members
are eligible for extended parking, registration at reduced
rates for daytime courses and a monthly newsletter. Annual
memberships are available at a very reasonable cost.

Trips: |

several day trips at competitive prices.
All trips are escorted by Centre staff. |

and Special Events:

Monthly
events include teas, dinners, dances, barbecues, movies
and more. Homemade lunches and goodies are baked right
on the premises. The annual Oak Leaves Bazaar and Rummage
Sale are community favourites. |
Clubs:

The
following is a sample of the 35 club activities available
to members, most have little or no additional fees: Art,
Drama, Quilting, Scriveners, Silversmithing, Woodcrafting,
Bridge, Whist, Cribbage, Billiards, Carpet Bowling, Scrabble,
Darts, Golf, Mah Jong, Table Tennis, Computers, Family
History, French, Photography, Financial, Hiking, Choir,
Noteables Musical Variety Ukulele and many more. |
Rental
and Banquet Facilities: |
Monterey
Recreation Centre is ideal for wedding receptions, family
gatherings, meetings and parties. Our rooms can accommodate
small groups, or functions up to 200 people. There is
plenty of free parking available. A full banquet package,
including menu choices, is available if you would like
further information. |
