National Lifejacket Day
Gear up for summer safety! Wear for you favorite lifejacket or PFD to the pool and participate in a variety of PFD and boating safety games and activities.
Tennis Family Fun Day
Recreation Oak Bay in collaboration with South Island Tennis Association is proud to present a Community Tennis Day at Henderson Recreation Centre on Saturday, May 26th from 11am-3pm (if rain will be held indoors in bubble).
Come try tennis in a “new easy to learn” way. There will be something for everyone – from beginner to experienced. From young to mature players. Instructors on hand to field any of your tennis questions.
This is a free event with no-pre registration necessary. Equipment for all ages is available.
Oak Bay Tea Party
Saturday June 2 & Sunday June 3
10:30am – 7pm
Join the Recreation Oak Bay Summer Camp staff at the Oak Bay Tea Party & Parade on Saturday June 2. Cheer on the staff as they travel “Under the Sea” in this year’s parade float. Parade starts at 10:30am from Windsor Park and finishes at Willows Park.
After the parade, join Recreation Oak Bay’s Aquatics staff on the Tea Party lawns at Willows Beach Park for fun games & activities from 1-3pm on Saturday!
The Midway runs at Willows Park from 11am to 9pm on Saturday and from 11am to 7pm on Sunday. Rides provided by Shooting Star Amusements.

Oak Bay Mayor’s Back Alley Walk
Join the Mayor of Oak Bay, Nils Jensen, for the 7th Annual Oak Bay Mayor’s Back Alley Walk.
Registration is from 1:30-2pm at St Mary’s Church, 1701 Elgin.
The 5 km walk starts at 2pm and is flat, mostly paved, with some trails.
The Victoria ‘Y’ Volkssport Club has planned a route that will include the following: Theatre Alley, several other alleys, Doug’s chicken coop, behind the Fire Hall, the Eagle’s nesting in trees behind the Hall, Patio Ct, Beach Dr, No Name Alley, Esplanade. and a stop at the washrooms at Willows Beach. From there over to Tod House and return through some more alleys, part of the Bowker Creek Waterway and then back to the start.
